I bought this neoprene vest for my granddog who will be going duck hunting this fall. I wanted it for some added warmth and buoyancy in cold water and for some protection against debris such as sticks. She is now an indoor pet but is trained to retrieve ducks, so I hope it will be beneficial to her on the trip. I’d have preferred orange but that won’t do for hunting ducks so I got this camouflage print.One of her measurements, the chest, was near the top of the size range for XL, but within it, so that’s what I ordered. It seemed almost a little too snug to me, but her owner said these are supposed to fit slightly snug to keep debris out and he thought the next size would be too loose. She is a Labrador Retriever and weighs about 77 pounds, but I went by her measurements. The vest can be trimmed if needed. She doesn’t seem thrilled to try it on but seems okay with it once it’s on her.I looked at others but some had complicated construction and would have taken more time to put on correctly.
